LearnHex is a free website that teaches AI to beginners, one small step at a time. This page says, in plain words, what we keep about you, why, where it is kept and how to delete it. In short: we keep only what the app needs to save your learning. We do not sell your data, show ads or track you.
Who runs LearnHex
LearnHex is a small personal project run by one person, not by a company. “We” on this page means that person, the owner.
What Google shares with us
When you tap “Continue with Google”, Google shares three things with us: your name, your email address and your profile photo (Google’s basic profile and email permissions). We use them only to create your account, sign you in and show your name in the app. We get nothing else from your Google account: not your password, contacts, files or emails. We never post anything, and we do not share or sell this data.
What we keep with your account
- Your account: the ID of your Google account, your name, your email address, a link to your profile photo and the date you joined.
- Your learning progress, kept as one record: the name you use in the app, your settings (language, text size, theme, daily goal, AI app), the course you picked, the lessons and steps you finished, quiz results, your streak and the prompts in your Prompt Book.
- Feedback you send (Send feedback, Report a problem, “Was this lesson clear?”, “Stuck?”). It is kept with your progress.
- What you paste or type in a “Your turn” box is sent to our server only to check it. It is not kept with your account: it stays as a draft in this browser until the task passes. Two exceptions: a prompt you wrote that passes is saved in your Prompt Book, and the result of a check can quote a few words of your prompt.
Why we keep it
Only to run LearnHex: to sign you in, to save your progress so it follows you to any device, to show your name, streak and certificates, and to read your feedback so we can fix and improve the lessons. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Where it is kept
- Your account and progress are kept in a database run by Supabase, in its Mumbai (India) region.
- The app runs on Vercel, a hosting service. Like every website host, Vercel sees your IP address and browser details when it sends you a page, and keeps short technical logs.
- Google runs the sign-in. What happens on Google’s own pages is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
AI apps and videos
- When a lesson opens Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude, you use that company’s app under its own privacy policy. Never type passwords, bank details or private numbers into an AI app.
- Lesson videos come from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and load only after you tap play. From then on, YouTube’s privacy policy applies.
Cookies and storage on your device
- A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. The app cannot work without it.
- A small cookie, lh_locale, remembers your language.
- Your browser’s local storage keeps your progress on this device (so the app opens fast and works on a weak connection), drafts of “Your turn” answers, and small settings such as whether you hid the install tip.
- We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics tools: no Google Analytics, no ad pixels.
Who can see your data
Only you, in the app. The owner can see totals across all learners (for example, how many people finished a lesson) to improve the lessons, and looks at a single account only when needed to fix a problem, stop abuse or answer your request. We do not sell, rent or give your data to anyone. Supabase, Vercel and Google handle it only to run LearnHex for us.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, progress and feedback are deleted from our database at once. Backup copies held by our database provider are removed on its own schedule.
Your control
- Me > Account and data > Export progress saves your progress as a file you can keep.
- Me > Account and data > Delete my account deletes your account, progress and feedback for good.
- You can also remove LearnHex from the third-party connections in your Google account settings. That stops sign-in, but it does not delete your data here; use Delete my account for that.
- Me > Account and data > Reset progress clears your lessons, quizzes and streak and keeps your account.
Children
LearnHex is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep data about them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Contact
Questions or requests about your data or these terms: use Me > Account and data > Send feedback. It reaches the owner; say how we can reach you.
